Preparation for Archaeological Fieldwork

Decide exactly what sort of project you wish to conduct.

Is it to be a detailed study of a parish, or is it to be based on one known site where a particular problem needs to be examined?

For example, sites such as Burpham Camp or Warningcamp Hill are known sites which appear on the Historic Environment Records, but which have unanswered questions that would be a good basis for fieldwork.
