Introducing EMAS
We started out over 30 years ago as the University of London Extra-Mural Archaeological Society, catering for past and present students of the University.
Now, as EMAS Archaeological Society – or just plain EMAS – we welcome anyone with an interest in archaeology. Beginners, students, amateurs and professionals alike!
We’re proud of our broad-based and diverse membership, drawn from many walks of life,
and are particularly keen to help younger people (18+) develop their understanding of
archaeology or explore new areas of interest.

Half-day Museum Visits in London (usually on a Saturday) are led by expert guides.
